I got my Cosco wood step stool in the mail a few days ago, and immediately realized that some of the problems identified by other reviewers were not, in fact, problems. I don't know if those reviewers were mistaken, or if Cosco has improved this product, but here goes:

1. Assembly? No. The step stool arrived in a flat box, folded but completely assembled. I didn't have to do anything but set it up.

2. Unsightly stickers? No. There were only two stickers, both VERY small, and neither on the flat surface of a step. One was on the button you push to fold the stool, identifying the button: useful. The other was the standard warning label that seems to come on every ladder: it was slender, on the edge of the top step. I haven't tried to remove either of them, I admit, because they don't bother me.

3. Weight? No big deal. Yes, it weighs something: it is, after all, a small ladder, and it wouldn't be safe if it were too light. But I'm a Frail and Delicate Flower (tm), and I didn't have any trouble carrying the box, or moving the ladder around.

It's just what I needed: a step stood strong enough to use frequently and safely, and nice-looking enough to leave out in my home library.

First the order arrived a day early and as soon as I mounted it on my ladder (which took all of three minutes) I was impressed. It works wonderfully well on corners and keeps me away from downspouts. Very stable when used on flat walls and it does project out further than most stabilizers so is great for getting away from soffit overhangs. Great product all around but you may want to put some soap on the rubber bumpers before you try and install them or you will have difficulty with the aluminum digging into the rubber.

I have two children, ages 6 and 3 1/2 years. Originally, I ordered this ladder and the ladder sold by One Step Ahead because I knew I wanted one in each of their rooms and I thought the one from One Step Ahead would be lighter and easier for our youngest daughter to use. I WAS WRONG. Although lighter, the ladder from One Step Ahead is BULKY and NEITHER of my children could lift it/maneuver it enough to get it into the window during our drills.

Yes, this ladder is heavier. BUT they never lift the whole thing. They drag the box to the window and then take the bottom rung (which is a different color and packaged to sit right on top, so it is easy to find) out and throw it out the window. Then they start throwing handfuls of the rest of the rungs out until the hooks. My 3 1/2 year old had no problem with this during our drill. It didn't take long and definitely beat not being able to make it work at all. I just ordered a second one so that they both have a child friendly ladder.

The storage box is much smaller as well, but we are storing it with the over the windowsill hooks open instead of folded flat because opening them was something they could not consistently do quickly.

I also really liked that it is easy to do drills and refold the ladder back into the box correctly and that more than one person can be supported at a time.

Love the ladder, only wish I could have gotten a 28 foot with the Equalizer legs. Heavy duty ladder, but not too heavy to move around on my own. Big enough to clean my second story gutters, but still hangs on hooks in my garage. Price was very reasonable and delivery was pretty convenient, but only because I work a block from home. They only wanted to deliver during the business day so without my flexible schedule, someone would have had to take the day off.

I had this unit installed during a bathroom remodel, and it is exactly as advertised - quiet and effective. However I had trouble at first: the heater was a little noisy and sounded as though something was rubbing. The exhaust fan was extremely noisy. The Broan technical support people were very good - they immediately sent me a replacement heater unit (it installs very easily from below, no need to remove from the ceiling), and after I described the second problem suggested that the exhaust ducting needs a minimum of a 2 foot straight run after it leaves the unit. I was using flexible insulated ducting, and when that was straightened for the first 2-3 feet, the noise dropped dramatically. The unit is now very quiet, and Broan impressed me with the way they stood behind their product.

I've been eyeballing this product for a few weeks now and finally ordered it. I was very impressed with how quickly the seller got it to me. Everything included inside is of good quality and I would highly recommend this to anybody interested in an easy and well thought out 72-hour kit. There's also a good bit of extra room for me to put more stuff in the pack as I would definitely like to do a little more customizing on the contents. The one thing that I would suggest to the seller would be to include "Camper's Toilet Paper" instead of a big roll of POM. It's way too large and I didn't wind up using it in my pack. Just seems like a waste of space that could easily be reduced. Other than that minor nitpicking, everything else was great.

I had some thoughts on when I took it out of the box if this would fit in the opening in my ceiling but after some cutting here and there it fit nicely and secured. The joist brackets that came with the unit were a little difficult in the beginning to install between the ceiling joists but once I got everything removed and cleared I had no problems. The only problem I have and still have is the light fixture it doesn't work at all except for the night light. I went out and purchase new bulbs and it still didn't work so there is something wrong with the light fixture. I have power going into the fixture but the main lights do not work. I called Panasonic and had a rough time with one technician who wanted to talk to my electrician who install it for me and kept telling me I needed a three way switch for it to work and of course that does not say that in the instruction manual. So, I got a case number and waited about 10 minutes and called again and spoke to another technician who was more user friendly in gathering my information. He agreed to review the case and since then I received the shipping label from Amazon and the only thing left is waiting on the new light fixture or a new unit.

I love the quietness of the unit and the suction of the air it takes out of the room with any hope the light fixture or unit will arrive and everything will start working. In the end of course I would purchase another one but this time directly from Amazon and not a second party or third party.

I bought 3 of these locks and have had the lock in place for about 2 weeks now. They seem to be working well. The lock feels well built and looks very professional when installed. The instructions on changing the master code do not seem to work. I tried on all three locks and was unable to get the final success beep. What is worse is that neither the new master code nor the original master code seem to work after that and the lick has to be reset which involves taking the lock off of the door again. Fortunately the instructions for changing user codes works for the master code as well.

A few days after buying this lock a black hat video demonstration showing a similar biometric lock being opened with a paper clip was released. This lock does not appear to be affected by that flaw though the key tumblers are not the most secure.

The Level-Ett set is a terrific solution to working on slopes with a ladder, as it enables you to individually adjust the length of the legs by pushing a button lever and snapping a pin into one of the adjustment holes.

It does require a drill and pair of wrenches to install, but it is great once the ladder legs' new "feet" are on. You have to remain aware of the increased distance from the bottom rung to the ground, especially on steep slopes, but that is an easy adjustment. Since both legs are adjustable you can work on ground sloping either direction and quickly and easily adjust the legs as the slope changes.

I bought one set some time back, but grew tired of switching it from my long extension ladder to an intermediate length one so I bought another set recently. One set has a spring loaded button that is a little stiff, but both sets work well. The pieces are very sturdy and well made, although they do not fit every ladder leg size. I had to put some plywood spacers in one ladder's leg rails to make them fit.

Although the manufacturer says not to use them on step ladders, I have done that in some situations. Keep in mind that it can make for a VERY big step down from the bottom rung though, which can be dangerous.

The Level-Etts made a house painting project possible for me that otherwise would have required setting up scaffolding. A great idea and well made. I really like them.

Great idea, but apparently incomplete engineering. Believe the video in another review of the looj flipping, bogging down, and running out of battery juice waaaayyy too soon. I wish I had more fully embraced that video; I would have saved time and money.

The other red flag should be that no major retailer in our area, such as Home Depot, Lowe's or Ace Hardware, carries this robot (and couldn't even order it) -- though it's easy to find most all of the other I-Robot products on the shelves.

No one carries Looj because the buying scouts perhaps tried it and determined it'd be a product constantly returned by irritated home owners.

This is really too bad; I was hoping this product would work well. It does not, though it might in shallow "arc"-type gutters where the debris is dry. Unfortunately, that gutter style -- and dry when you need them dry -- are rarities.

We bought this lock new from Amazon and received it 2 months ago. It worked fine for the first couple weeks then would stop working unless the battery was disconnected and reconnected which seemed to reset it. It would work for a couple times and then go back to the 'stuck' state where it can not be unlocked if it was in a locked state, even with the physical key provided as a backup. If it was unlocked when it went into the bad state it would not lock, again even with the physical key. We've tried several new batteries to no avail so the unit seems defective.

I really liked this lock when it worked. My advice would be to make a backup plan in case you have a problem with this lock, like keeping the old key lock around to re-install if this lock breaks and having at least one other door you can get in with a regular old key.

The 2 face shield protectors were nice.

The first is still in use and working just fine.

The extra set of pads was nice to get started.

This worked really well when I ripped out my plaster ceilings.

I like the overall quality of the mask as well.

I wear glasses and was able to tighten up the straps to stop the air leaks.

It fits so well that you can easily tell if your face is sealed tight in the mask.

I researched several locking mailboxes for the benefit of 104 homeowners in my neighborhood. I did a careful hands-on comparison of the Oasis [not Oasis Jr] and the Mail Boss (see disclosure below). Advantages to each, but I preferred the Mail Boss overall.

Advantages of Oasis:

- - Hopper style door will accept some thicker packages up to appx 4" x 6" x 12". Mail Boss max: 1-7/8" x 10.2" x 14.5"

- - Similar Capacity: appx 1400 cu in. (but Oasis has appx 28% more capacity than Mail Boss at hand-fishing limit. See below.)

Advantages of Mail Boss:

- - Much more pry resistant. Thicker steel (14/12 gauge vs 16/14). Recessed door top. Heavier lock, Hook-style lock tab.

- - Clean look. Not too tall (14" vs 20"); Looks OK mounted next to smaller mailboxes

- - Includes 3 keys and reflective address numbers (vs 2 keys, no numbers)

- - Slightly less expensive

Other Points:

- - Wind-blown rain: Mail Boss protects pretty well using inset door-tops. (I tested it with a hose.) Oasis has a protruding door top with a rubber seal, which will easily take in water if its rubber seal degrades. I like the Mail Boss design better, but would probably add weatherstripping for "belt and suspenders" protection.

- - Rust: Either box will rust out eventually...(Avoid white model.)

- - 10"x13" envelopes hang in the mail slot due to textured mailbox floor (like most other mailboxes) (add smooth cardboard to rear of floor)

- - The Mail Boss has a Mounting Plate system for easy installation, but not an issue vs the Oasis. Oasis has about 10"+ of vertical clearance inside the box -- probably enough for your cordless drill/driver.

- - Workmanship on both mailboxes is flawed, but acceptable

Security Comparison:

Prying and "fishing" are the two main concerns. Fishing means reaching in and pulling mail out through the slot. No evidence of tampering, so you may not know whether some of your mail has been stolen. Tested with my arms, which are just a little thinner than average adult male arms.

I was sold on these by an electrician friend who swore by them. Yes, it is quiet but that's not my highest concern when ventilating a bathroom. Especially when the ballast goes bad and you find out Panasonic only sells the ballast as part of the complete lamp base - essentially everything you see when you remove the cover. To date the best price I have found for the ballast is $90 plus shipping-not available locally. Today, I can buy the same fan new on EBay for $115 shipping free.

I have two of these fan units and both have had bad ballasts. The first was replaced under warranty and the second I'm paying for after not quite two years in service.

The irony is that these units replaced two better ventilating, much cheaper, slightly nosier USA made models which never had any ballast issues.

This is Panasonic sticking it to the consumer.

These wheels help a bit. Not as much as I would like...some day they may decide to figure a way to jumbo size these wheels and mount them in a way that retracts (like flight gear.) It will help a little, but moving the ladder by dragging over grass is tediou---wheels are hard and small diameter. For early models of the ladder,those that sold without pre drilled holes, company furnishes drill bits with the kit, a pleasant touch...overall I say it was worth having.

The Little Gian ladders, incidentally, are very confidence building when working a long time on your feet on rungs. I like the solidity of them. And do not think the imitations for less price are as good. Almost everything is aluminum and water resistant therefore... Company ought to include the hang on work platform, in my opinion. You will definitely want the work platform, and I say seek it too.

Recently purchased this ladder. It's very light and seems quite sturdy although I am near the reported weight capacity of 250 pounds.

I particularly like that I can stand on the platform and my head does not touch my (8 ft.) ceilings.

On a regular step ladder, the second step isn't high enough and the third is too high. I'm 6 foot.

This ladder is made in USA and is a good purchase.

The picture on Amazon for the 264 model is misleading as the 264 has only one step and then the platform. The picture shows the 265 which is a 5 foot as opposed to a four foot.

I've got three Werner ladders. I absolutely love this addition. It fits a spot that my 6 foot light weight fiberglass ladder and my 21 foot high-tech multipurpose ladder cannot touch. What makes it so special? There are several features:

* The steps are very broad. I was used to standing on a Polder step ladder and the narrow steps would wear out my feet in no time. I always felt like there was some balancing required while using the ladder. This ladder is a joy. The steps are nearly as deep as my feet - very comfortable. Standing hands free is comfortable and easy.

* I can easily reach my 9 foot ceilings with a lot of stability (I am 66 inches tall).

* The shape of the ladder allows close placement to a wall. If you need access a few feet up the wall, this ladder will put you at the perfect working range. A regular 6 foot ladder keeps me too far away from the wall to work with any precision.

* The tray at the top very roomy. There is a place for paint cans, scrapers and other gadgets. It even comes with a lanyard type rope to lasso many devices and hook them through a special noose on the tray (included).

* The weight capacity is outstanding at 250 pounds.

* The packaging was perfect for shipping. It arrived in perfectly good condition in a plastic bag. No excessive box or packing. If a ladder can't stand that kind handling - I don't want to stand on it!

If there was any drawback, it would be this. This is not a light ladder - in the step ladder kind of way. Lifting it is with two hands - not two fingers.

I have fought this gate and the stall force since it was new. All trouble shooting test from Mighty Mule showed no problems with the gate operation. Even though it would no longer close. I finally took the leap and tried an upgrade to the new "blue" control board. What a difference. The gate works great. It now has an easier start and smoother operation. Also, the gate lock unlocks right before it latches. This eliminates the need to have the gate "slam" in order to lock. This makes it operate better in colder conditions. If you are having a problem with your Mighty Mule gate, I wouldn't hesitate upgrading to the Blue Control Board.

Now I admit it, I am in no way a handyman. All I did to install this thing was attach the rail to the motor. After that major in pain in the neck, I decided to pay someone to install it. It took this professional handyman four or five hours to install. There were pieces missing. The motor was meant for the beams to run in one direction and mine run in the other direction, which required even more parts. However, once you finally get this baby installed, it is very quiet. Unfortunately, that doesn't help too much since I have a loud aluminum garage door.

The box was beat up during shipping and the ladder was knocked out of square. The frame is 1x4 pine, stapled together. the ceiling panel is 1/8 luan and kinda flimsy. I would not want it in my house or somewhere that I would be up and down it a lot. But all in all it was a good buy. I haven't installed it yet.

I ordered this ladder out of a desire to get away from 5 different ladders for different jobs, and was not expecting it to be as great as it is.

This story is not made up, it actually happened. It arrived just at the beginning of a huge rainstorm, fedex dropped it off and I put it in the garage to wait. 10 minutes later, the biggest rainfall in 20 years was underway, and water was pouring in our ceiling due to the torrential rain knocking all sorts of stuff loose that then clogged a gutter drain pipe. I run out to the garage, this ladder was closest, so I rip the packing off, run out, it takes me about 10 seconds to figure out how to work the knobs and whatnot, I fling it up and run (really run) up it, and I get the drain freed. Even in my rush, this ladder felt completely stable, far more so than my other Werner extension ladders. The wider base plays a role in this no doubt, but it also just feels solider (is that a word?). After I got off the ladder, not 5 seconds later a lightning bolt hit a tree about 50 feet away... I can't say that the lightning missing me was due to a magic ladder, more like blind luck (disclaimer: don't climb aluminum (or any other) ladders during thunderstorms, its dumb and I can't be held responsible). The beatdown my wife put on me for scaring her like that has taught me my lesson. However, the water was pouring in at about 5 gallons/min, all across the ceiling, panic ruled the day.

Anyways, back on point. Since then, its been pretty much the only ladder I've used. I've used it on crazy slopes (that ability to set the two sides at different lengths is great), picking fruit (which always seems to involve reaching farther than you should), and its easily strong enough for two fairly large guys to put drywall on the ceiling.

The only drawback I've noticed so far: the wide base can make it a little difficult to get as close to walls as I would have liked in some situations, but this is worth it for the increased stability, overall. I also wish I'd gotten the bigger model for that little bit of extra reach.

Very pleased with how fast this came, the price, and no shipping or tax charges. I had the opportunity to ask our mailman if he had any suggestions for locking mailboxes, and this one was the first one he wrote down an address for me to look at. Lucky for us it was the same one we each came up with after searching the internet. From the delivery side, he said that some locking mailboxes have such a small opening that a box of checks do not fit in to it. This one seems great so far.

I should have listened to all the other reviews. I took the day off work and waited for it to be delivered since they called a few days earlier to set up a delivery time. They did not come to my house nor did they call to say it wasn't being delivered for any reason. I took my chance with this freight company and got burned like many of the other reviewers that have thing delivered by this company.

this ladder looked good in photo, but when I got it, it I was disappointed with the flimsy design. the square-metal locks are cumbersome and sharp-edged making locking-in the ladder in position difficult. It's nice and shiny, though.
